Elle amène les enfants et les adolescents à rechercher le bien-être et à se soucier de leur santé. L’éducation physique et sportive initie au plaisir de la pratique sportive.[/bsf-info-box]
L’enseignement de l’EPS dans notre établissement s’articule autour des objectifs définis dans les programmes de l’Education Nationale :
Notre collège propose ainsi des activités physiques et sportives, nombreuses et variées, en fonction du programme :
Sports collectifs : basket, handball, football, volley, jeux traditionnels
Activités athlétiques : courses, sauts, lancers
Activités gymniques : gymnastique, acrosport, step
Activités aquatiques : natation
Sports de raquettes : badminton, tennis de table
Activités de pleine nature : ski, escalade,cross, course d’orientation
Activités d’opposition : lutte

L’Association Sportive de l’établissement permet aux élèves de pratiquer des activités physiques en plus des heures de cours obligatoires et de participer aux différentes manifestations sportives scolaires. Ces activités sont facultatives et sont encadrées par les professeurs d’EPS. La participation à ces activités nécessite l’adhésion à l’Association Sportive du Collège Sainte-Marie en début d’année.
L’élève choisit une ou plusieurs activités en fonction de ses goûts et de ses possibilités d’emploi du temps (sur le temps de midi et/ou le mercredi après-midi). Dans le cadre des championnats départementaux, régionaux et nationaux organisés par l’UGSEL (Union Générale Sportive de l’Enseignement Libre) et par l’UNSS (Union Nationale du Sport Scolaire), les élèves qui le désirent peuvent se mesurer en compétition scolaire. Chaque année, tant au niveau départemental, régional que national, de nombreux titres sont acquis par nos élèves.
